GLEN TANA FARM
Spokane, WA
On August 29, 2023 the Washington Opportunity Fund loaned $500,000 to the Inland NW Land Conservancy for the purchase of Glen Tana Farm.
This property is 1,060 acres of land with two miles of shoreline along the Little Spokane River. It is a prime location for the salmon reintroduction efforts of the Spokane Tribe of Indians. Moose, elk, deer, coyotes, beavers, eagles, and cougars and dozens of native plants have been thriving in the upland ponderosa pine forest, already adjacent to Riverside State Park, It was proposed that this 1,000+ acre property be platted for 126 home sites.
Inland NW Land Conservancy has repaid their loan.
"The Washington Opportunity Fund loan came at exactly the right time to allow us to close on the purchase of an incredible conservation property - 1,000 acres of diverse habitat that will foster salmon reintroduction work by the Spokane Tribe as well as provide public access through an expansion of Riverside State Park. This creative, visionary approach to conservation funding will benefit our state for generations to come.”
